Mantra Monday and My Hope

Every Monday I will post a weekly mantra and share how it resonates with me. If you connect with a mantra or something I say resonates with you I would love to hear about it. Maybe share how you’re applying it to your life or what it means to you. Another way to get involved in the weekly Mantra Monday is to send me a mantra that you would like featured. I’ll pick a new one every Monday and if your mantra is featured for that week I will give you and your blog a shout out! I can’t take full credit for this idea it comes from my friend Abby! Thank you, Abby!

Monday Mantra for the week 5/12/14

Close your eyes, clear your heart and let it go. This resonated with me because there are some relationships and things in my life that I need to let go of right now in order to grow. I have a hard time letting go. If it’s a relationship that’s broken for instance, I want to fix it. If it’s an actual item, even though I haven’t picked it up in a year or more, what if I need it someday? Letting go is mentally challenging. We have to mentally talk and walk ourselves through the process. Letting go is also one of the healthiest habits we can develop. Whether you’re letting go of toxic relationships, clearing out the clutter in your home or mentally letting go of unhealthy behaviors or attitudes, it can be one of the most liberating things you ever do.  By letting go you create space in your life for more of the things you truly desire. What I’m learning, is that we can create a life that we love, but first we need to let go of things that we don’t. Holding onto the things we don’t need and don’t want in our life only continues to hold us back. It keeps us from moving forward and growing into the life we desire.

Meditate on Your Mantra

Try this, find a quiet space for 5-10 minutes. Grab a notebook and a pen. In the first few moments, we’re simply going to breathe. Clear your head and your heart by counting your breath, 1-10 (2x) thru inhale, 1, exhale, 2 etc. Then bring your focus back to the mantra and ask yourself, what’s holding me back? What do I need to let go of? Sit with those questions, maybe repeating them a few times and then stop and listen. Listen to what your inner voice is telling you. Listen to what God is speaking to you. When you have your answer, write it down. Think about it this week. Go a step further and write down the steps you need to take to truly let go. The first step to change is creating awareness.

Do you want to share what you are letting go of this week? Send me your thoughts, your mantras and whatever is holding you back or down, let it go.

Sending you love and positive thoughts always,

Amber 🙂

Thank you for this post, Amber. Recognition of what needs to be let go of is my biggest challenge. Right now my life seems so cluttered. I really need clarity and need to identify and then let go of some things in my life.

Thanks for commenting Rob! I agree sometimes the hardest challenge is learning what to let go of and what to hold onto. Sometimes it just feels as though were stuck in a big pile of clutter! Or at least I do 🙂 try the meditation I usually find out what I need to do just by sitting with the questions. Now actually doing the things are a different story, ha ha but we live and learn and do the best we can. Thank you again!

You’re welcome, and thank you! Yes, I’m sure that the follow through will be equally as challenging, but it’s a good exercise to go through. I look forward to trying it!
